Introduction:
The count on bikes in the Indian automobile market is endless, but so far, many got increased sales, and few have fallen below expectations. Still, it is good to come with mid of 2023 with new launches and may boost sales beyond. In the list of many motorcycle brands, Yamaha segments are also hot picks.
Yamaha Motors has launched many models, and we are comparing them to the same bike version. Yamaha has officially launched the Yamaha MT 15 V2 in India with a price tag of Rs 159,900. Since its release, it has been the only update from the past. So what’s the difference between the new and the old model? And does the price premium make sense?
With version 2.0, the telescopic forks of the Yamaha MT-15 have been replaced by 37 mm inverted units taken from the Yamaha R15 V4. This not only makes it more expensive but should also make it easier to handle.
1. Design:
The body panels of the Yamaha Mt 15 V2 remain identical to the original. The appearance of the MT-15 has been greatly improved with the inclusion of new color schemes. The cyan-blue color of our test bike makes it stand out in a sea of bikes, and the painted rims only add to the effect.
If that’s too flashy, the MT-15 comes in more subdued colors. The colors add to the uniqueness of this machine, and the new USD fork gives the front end of the MT-15 a more muscular presence than the previous bike.
2. Features:
Yamaha used the R15 V4-derived LCD unit for the MT-15 version 2.0 instead of the previous model’s simple LCD instrument console. Passengers can receive calls/SMS notifications with the Bluetooth Wi-Connect connectivity module, although there are no navigation functions. It offers Less power but more torque.
Yamaha has modified the engine to generate 18.4 hp at 10,000 rpm and 14.1 Nm at 7,500 rpm. At 10,000 rpm, the previous model developed 18.5 hp and 13.9 Nm at 8,500 rpm. Although the lack of power is disappointing, the bike’s torque is high, peaking in the first 1000 rpm, which could help around town.
3. Price:
Cyan Storm and Racing Blue are the two new colors added to the Yamaha MT-15 Version 2.0. Here’s how the new prices compare to the old ones. Explore Yamaha MT V2 Price and don’t miss to compare it with its other version. The main reason for the price difference is with color and series variants.
Yamaha MT-15:
- (Rs 1,60,900) Yamaha MT-15 Ice Fluo-Vermilion
- Cyan Storm (Rs 1,60,900)
- Racing Blue (Rs 1,60,900).
- Darker Black (Rs 1,60,900)
Yamaha MT-15 V2:

- Metallic Black (Rs 1,46,900)
As with the previous model, Yamaha also offered the “Customize Your Warrior” program, allowing consumers to add unique graphics, alloy wheels, and body paint beyond the base options for up to Rs 4,000.
The new model costs Rs 13,000 more than the previous model, and although the 2.0 version includes significant changes, cosmetic updates and dual-channel ABS are still missing. Considering the bike maker has dramatically upgraded the hardware and design of the R15 for an extra Rs 10,000, the price increase is hard to explain.
Conclusion:
Yamaha MT 15 V2 and Yamaha MT 15 both bikes are both excellent and have many benefits and features. Both bikes are fantastic, but the V2 bike is less expensive. If you want a good bike, you can choose it within its variety. Compare them wisely with version, model, and other brand bikes within the exact cost & features.
